ENERGY

We have been working with the Energy Agency for Industry (EnAW) for over 10 years.

They advise us on energy savings and CO2 emissions. Thanks to this cooperation, we are always up to date with the latest legal and technical innovations.

Saving energy, reducing CO2 emissions and sustainability have been concerns of ours for a long time, and we are continuously implementing them.

Due to a possible electricity shortage, we have made additional efforts to make further savings:

The heating and ventilation in the entire hotel and restaurant operations have been optimised

Heating and ventilation are automatically set lower at night

A defective ventilation was replaced with a more energy-efficient motor

All thermostats were checked, readjusted and - where necessary - renewed

Windows were checked for tightness and seals replaced

All light sources were checked and replaced with LEDs.

Motion detectors installed where appropriate

The refrigerators in the hotel rooms are set to "Min". Guests are free to turn them on whenever they are needed.

Our machines are maintained, renewed where appropriate and regularly checked.

Our staff are trained

How can YOU support us?

Please turn off the light when you leave your room

Please do not leave - in winter - the window open when you leave your room

The maids will lower the radiators after cleaning. You can adjust them to your needs at any time.

Your towels in the room will only be changed if you put them on the floor

Leave your car at home: You can park for FREE in our outdoor car parks during your stay.

In return, we offer you a free ticket for all buses and trains in the Upper Engadine, in summer and winter, for stays of 2 nights or more.

And in summer, all mountain railways are also included.

We collect and dispose of the following recyclable materials:

PET and disposable bottles

Organic waste

Paper and cardboard boxes

Printer cartridges, batteries, light bulbs

Soaps, shower gels and shampoos

We collect and dispose of leftover soaps and shower gels separately.

We are a premium member of the Fondation sapocycle.org, which transforms these soaps into important projects. For more information, please visit www.sapocycle.org.

We use the energy of sport to support sick children.

The chesa surlej hotel is a partner of the Greenhope foundation.
